Auckland Airport Case Study.
“Auckland Airport (AIAL) had for a long time, concerns regarding the presentation of its glass in many of its buildings, mostly due to its proximity to the sea and the damaging effect of aviation fuel. Cleaner, greener glass was required, so a meeting was set up with Clear Shield Glass Auckland in 2012.
We had concerns with our Apron tower windows and the high risk cleaning, which was often required. We arranged to ClearShield one window as a test and left this for 2 months. The results were amazing, with improved visibly to the Apron and aircraft areas and the glass stayed cleaner than any of the other windows. As a result of this, we had ClearShield applied to the remaining glass and the results stand firm today with improved vision, less cleaning required and less risk to persons having to work at heights. We have since also applied ClearShield to other windows and areas where we often have a lot of sea salt and direct build-up. The results again are great and these areas require far less frequent cleaning and maintenance. We required a product that could withstand both organic and inorganic contamination, was safe to apply and performed up to expectations. Our windows were in a pretty bad way with lots of water spots. They are also exposed to sea air. We could never get them to look clean. We are amazed at how good they have come up after being treated by Clearshield. It is so nice to finally look out of clean windows.
